This engine is connected to a six-speed manual transmission on the FE trim. The other trim levels get a standard continuously variable transmission (CVT) that’s optional for the FE. The Forte is very fuel-efficient. EPA-estimated fuel economy for the 2.0-liter engine stands at 27/37 mpg (FE manual), 31/41 mpg (FE automatic) and 29/40 mpg (LXS, GT Line, EX).* The GT’s 1.6-liter turbo-four returns 27/35 mpg (automatic), 25/32 mpg (manual).
