A Kia Forte Generational Overview

The Kia Forte was introduced as a stylish and inexpensive compact car to replace the Kia Spectra. Its first generation ran from 2010 to 2013, and the final model got a combined 30 MPG with its 4-cylinder engine. The car was available as a standard 4-door sedan, a five-door hatchback, and a sporty 2-door "Koup." Its highest trim came with a fuel efficiency monitor, power windows and locks, a leather-wrapped shift knob, and a tire pressure monitoring system.

The Kia Forte broke into its second generation in 2014, further proving its affordability. The base-level LX trim only cost $16,000 with its standard configuration and provided 96.2-cubic feet of passenger volume. Its mileage remained impressive, landing at 36 MPG in the city and 34 on the highway for a combined 29 MPG score. The Forte continued to be sold in the three different body styles, providing buyers with plenty of options.

The 2018 Kia Forte underwent a total redesign for the third generation. Plus, the Kia Forte now started to include driver-assist safety features, and it came with a larger standard engine. From 2018 on, the fourth generation has dominated, with multiple engine options and more interior space. The Kia Forte has stayed just as affordable and fuel-efficient as ever before while adding on newer technologies that make driving easier and more entertaining.

The 2021 Kia Forte

This brings us to the 2021 Kia Forte, an affordable yet sporty model. Despite its low price tag, the 2021 Kia Forte offers several convenience features. These include heated and ventilated seating, a 10-way power driver's seat, and an 8-inch touchscreen. This display includes music streaming options like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and it also offers navigation and voice controls to ensure you don't get distracted while reaching your destination.

As if these features aren't fancy enough, the 2021 Kia Forte even has a hands-free trunk opening option, called a "Smart Trunk." Keep your key fob in hand, and you no longer have to worry about forgetting to pop the trunk. Plus, UVO Link gives you more convenient features such as remote start and roadside assistance, among others. Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant are compatible with your Kia Forte as well, so you can take these conveniences even further by asking your electronic assistants to start your Forte and turn on the A/C!

Safety is another one of the 2021 Kia Forte's main features. It's built with a 54% Advanced High-Strength Steel body and traction and stability control to prevent spinning out. You'll also get standard anti-lock brakes and Kia's Brake Assist System to aid you in short-notice braking situations. Plus, thanks to Kia Drive Wise, you get five standard driver-assist features, some of which include forward collision-avoidance assist and blind-spot collision warning. Thanks to automatic braking and the Forte's blind spot alerts, you'll find it much easier to prevent accidents.

Lastly, the 2021 Kia Forte is among the sportiest Fortes of all. The 2021 Kia Forte GT's grille includes red inserts that really make it pop, especially when paired with the Currant Red exterior shade. Further, the Kia Forte comes with several exterior accents, such as a rear spoiler and mirror caps, stylish wheels, and red seat stitching. But the Forte GT is more than just an appearance package - it also includes a powerful turbocharged engine with the choice between a manual or a dual-clutch transmission. Between its convenience, fuel efficiency, safety, and sporty attire, the 2021 Kia Forte is the perfect budget car on the market.
