A blue 2022 Kia Sportage is shown driving over a bridge after leaving Kia dealers in Houston.

Kia dealers in Houston and all around the United States are anxiously awaiting the introduction of the latest and greatest Kia models. The manufacturer has given the dealers and enthusiasts a glimpse into the future, and what they showed everyone was just enough to get the excitement started!

When the latest vehicles roll off of the assembly line, consumers have learned to expect great things. Kia has a reputation for increasing features, luxury, stability, and safety each year. The latest Kia innovations that have dealerships biting their nails in anticipation include the following vehicles.

2022 Sportage Nightfall Edition

The Nightfall Edition version of the popular Sportage opens up external feature options that people are going to love, introducing black trim and creating mystery and beauty at the same time. The front bumper, rear bumper trim, side sills, skid plates, roof rails, fog light surrounds, and window surrounds are all flat piano black. This makes the body colors pop and creates an aggressive and high-performance look to the vehicle.

The liftgate has been upgraded to sense the presence of the key and can be opened automatically. Your hands are free to carry your groceries, accessories, or essentials, and the Smart Power Liftgate makes loading the vehicle more effortless than ever. Once the liftgate is up, the cargo floor has a dual-level design that allows supplies to ride in a stable condition and prevents tipping and spilling bags. The rear seats have a 60/40 folding capability that increases cargo room. Under the cargo floor, a removable tray has been installed that will hold loose items and smaller objects to prevent them from being lost.

The latest Sportage model will have an all-wheel-drive option on top of the choice of two different engines. The Nightfall comes with the standard 2.4-liter options, but if you like power and speed, then check out the SX Turbo trim to see if its 240 horsepower is enough motor for you.

Inside, wireless phone charging lets you cut the power cord strings and makes keeping your smartphones and devices charged and ready to use. A touchscreen display lets you connect to all of your favorite apps, maps, music, and even your text messages from friends. Remote access to start the engine, unlock the doors, control the climate inside the vehicle, and find the car in a crowded parking lot is accessible with the UVO link system. Your smartphone becomes a tool that helps you to control your automobile and make life easier for you.

Visual and auditory signals will alert you of objects that are in your blind spot. Forward collision assistance is provided and can help you slow the vehicle or stop it if a front-facing collision is impending. The headlights also automatically dim when they sense a vehicle approaching, so you never have to worry about blinding an oncoming driver.

A grey 2022 Kia Telluride is shown from the side parked in the forest.

2022 Kia Telluride

The Telluride is a midsize SUV that was recently introduced and has already earned the honors of being named one of Car and Driver’s 10Best and picking up their Editor’s Choice award for 2020 and 2021. The latest Telluride will have an updated logo positioned on the grille. Instead of the old oval, the Kia letters will be linked together to create a sharp new logo. The grille of the vehicle will be available in chrome or in black.

The 2022 trim packages will offer luxury interior upgrades. The 3.8-liter V-6 engine with 291 horsepower will be standard in every trim. Kia provides a 10.25″ touchscreen, automatic climate control, and highway driving assist features that create a semi-autonomous vehicle even on the lower-level trim packages.

All of the 2022 Telluride models will have a cruise control upgrade. The advanced Smart Cruise Control-Curve will modify the cruise control settings based on navigation information about the roadway you are traveling. The cruise control will automatically adjust your traveling speed when an upcoming curve in the road makes it necessary. Once you have passed the turn, the cruise control will automatically adjust the momentum back to your chosen setting.

2022 Seltos

For all people who would prefer a smaller-sized sports utility vehicle, the Kia Seltos will be worthy of your attention. It is a rugged vehicle that is ready for around-town driving and open highway adventures. The 2022 model is available with a turbocharged 1.6-liter engine that has plenty of power, putting out 175 horsepower and 195 lb-ft torque. The 2022 model is also available with all-wheel drive. It has an optimal 7.3″ ground clearance so that you can take the less-traveled path with more confidence.

Advancements like automatic emergency braking technology have made the Seltos safer to drive. Lane-keeping and lane-following technology ensure that you will not become distracted and allow your vehicle to drift out of the lane you are traveling in. Blindspot detection technology will alert you to the presence of objects in your blind spots, and rear cross-traffic collision avoidance will reduce the possibility of parking-lot mishaps.

The 2022 Seltos will offer the comfort and convenience that most people want from their vehicles. Heated front seats keep you warm and cozy, while remote control of the climate control allows you to use your smartphone to set the temperature in your vehicle. You do not have to face extremely hot or cold interiors with this feature.

A grey 2022 Kia EV6 is shown from the side parked in front of a mountain.

2022 EV6

This electric car is going to be a game-changer for a lot of people. Many drivers have resisted switching to electric-powered vehicles because they believed electricity couldn’t provide the power they needed. People also worry that the electric car will not travel very far before it needs to recharge. The new Kia EV6 proves them wrong on both counts.

There are several trim levels offered in the EV6. The most basic trim level will have rear-wheel drive and 167 horsepower. However, the top-of-the-line EV6 GT will have all-wheel drive and an incredible 576 horsepower. The GT model has a larger battery pack, combined with dual motors, one in the front and one in the rear. Kia says that the GT is capable of reaching speeds of 60 mph in less than 3.5 seconds – that’s a full second faster than the twin-turbo V6 Kia Stinger GT.

The worries that people have about how often the car will need to plug in to charge and the amount of time it will take for power to be restored have also been laid to rest. The quick charger will allow the battery to go from a ten percent charge to eighty percent in as little as eighteen minutes. The car will have enough power to travel an additional seventy miles in as few as five minutes.

The EV6 will be attractive as well as practical and environmentally friendly. The vehicle will have a panoramic sunroof and a premium audio system so you can enjoy your ride. It will also sport 20-inch wheels that give it precise handling to complement its incredible acceleration.

Final Thoughts

The 2022 Kia lineup is promising to be one of the most advanced and safest lineups introduced in the past seven years. If you are considering a new vehicle, it would be wise for you to look into what Kia has been doing and its offering in their cars. You will more than likely be delighted with what they have to offer, from the luxurious Telluride to the electric EV6.

A red 2021 Kia Soul is shown driving on an open road at night.

Did you know that Kia is part of the fifth-largest vehicle manufacturer in the world? As your Atascocita Kia dealer, we’re proud of Kia’s incredible history, even if Kia’s rise in the automotive industry got off to a late start. What do we mean?

Founded in Korea in 1944, the company was known as Kyungsung Precision Industry and started producing bicycle parts before debuting its first bicycle in 1952. A decade later, Kia followed up with the three-wheeled K-360 and set its sights on entering the automotive industry. This was a natural progression, and a strategic move for Kia as the newly fashioned automaker introduced its Brisa lineup of automobiles in the 1970s and 1980s. By the 1990s, Kia ventured to the United States with the Sephia and Sportage before adding the Sedona and Optima to the lineup at the end of the decade.

With each new model, Kia firmly planted its foot in the American automotive industry and revealed its resounding commitment to delivering capable vehicles loaded with comfort and convenience features. We see this commitment today in Kia’s current lineup of SUVs that includes top-sellers like the Soul, Seltos, Sportage, and Telluride, all of which offer top-tier trims that embody Kia’s growing reputation as one of the most reliable and feature-rich brands in the country.

2021 Soul (Turbo)

Aptly named and boasting plenty of personality, the 2021 Soul is one of the most versatile models in the Kia lineup. You’ll find this versatility reaches a new level on the top-of-the-line Soul Turbo that includes every feature imaginable. So, what makes the Turbo so special?

The Turbo is named for its 1.6-liter turbocharged engine that’s paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission to deliver 201 horsepower. This power makes the Turbo incredibly responsive at highway speeds and reflects the trim’s focus on performance with its sporty exterior appearance and added upgrades like the sunroof, LED headlights, and combination leather and cloth seat trim.

The upgrades don’t stop there, however, and include a 10.25-inch touchscreen display that houses the rear camera and navigation system as well as access to your smartphone via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The heads-up display puts all the data you need within eyesight, while advanced safety features like Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go give you confidence wherever the road leads.

A yellow 2022 Kia Seltos SX Turbo is shown from the side parked in a desert.

2022 Seltos (SX Turbo)

Rugged and ready for adventure is a great way to describe the 2022 Seltos SX Turbo. The small SUV is one of the most capable in its segment thanks to its 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine and quick-shifting 7-speed dual-clutch transmission that delivers 195 lb-ft of torque to give you all the power and traction right when you need it most. Truly designed with performance and speed in mind, the SX Turbo includes Kia’s exclusive torque-vectoring all-wheel-drive system with a center lock that readies the SUV for any terrain. This means more opportunities for adventure both on and off the pavement.

As you set out on your next adventure, you’ll do so in style from a stunning cockpit that gives you all the control and comforts you need within reach, from the sport steering wheel to the heated front seats. Like the Soul Turbo, you’ll find the Seltos SX Turbo is equipped with the same 10.25-inch touchscreen display with the UVO Link system and navigation, as well as a rear camera with dynamic parking guidance that makes backing into a parking space easy. The model also features push-button start and remote start, wireless phone charging, and an electronic parking brake, as well as Kia’s DriveWise Driver Assist suite of safety technologies.

2022 Sportage (SX Turbo)

The Sportage ups the ante for Kia’s adventure-hungry lineup by blending a sophisticated design with an athletic stance that reflects its rugged capability. This design culminates on trims like the SX Turbo, which delivers a suite of innovative features from connectivity, safety, and driver-assist tools to exceptional power under the hood. That power comes from the Sportage’s 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine that produces up to 240 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque to make the SUV quick to respond and more than capable of handling itself on the highway, in the city, or down a dirt road.

The Sportage SX Turbo also delivers plenty of comfort, convenience, and luxury with features that extend from its smart power liftgate and panoramic sunroof to its heated and ventilated leather seats. As for technology, the SX Turbo doesn’t disappoint with an 8-inch touchscreen display that houses navigation and the UVO Link system, as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. You’ll find the push-button start makes the SX Turbo quick to come to life, while advanced tools like High Beam Assist, Driver Attention Warning, and Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go enhance your visibility and minimize the potential for collision.

2022 Telluride (SX)

A list of the top-of-the-line Kia models isn’t complete without the award-winning Telluride. Offering seating for eight with second-row captain’s chairs, the 2022 Telluride SX is the top-tier trim in the lineup and holds nothing back in terms of performance, luxury, and innovation. The SX is powered by a 3.8-liter V6 engine that delivers 291 horsepower and enables the full-size SUV to tow up to 5,000 pounds, which means you can easily haul a small trailer or tow a boat to the lake for a weekend with the family.

Inside, the Telluride SX is everything you imagine in a luxury SUV with its leather seats and dual sunroofs. You’ll find heated and ventilated seats in the front with the option to add these features to the second row as well. Intuitive technology is at the forefront of the SX’s design and includes a 7-inch LCD Supervision Instrument Cluster that puts vital information within eyesight behind the steering wheel. The 10.25-inch touchscreen display is home to UVO Link with navigation as well as the Surround View Monitor and the Blind-Spot View Monitor.

It’s Time to Pick Your Favorite

When it comes to top-of-the-line SUVs, Kia has plenty to offer whether you’re looking for a smaller option like the Soul, an adventurer like the Sportage, or a spacious family vehicle like the Telluride. What makes these models even better is that they carry Kia’s reputation for reliability and dependability. This is reinforced by Kia’s best-in-class warranty, which brings 10 years or 100,000 miles of protection and peace of mind. Adding a Kia to your garage is one of the best decisions you can make.

Now, which Kia will you choose?

A blue 2021 Kia Forte is shown from the front after leaving a Houston Kia Forte dealer.

How does driving a gorgeous new sedan loaded with all the latest technology and safety features sound? And what if it was also covered by the most comprehensive warranty in the industry? If you’re nodding yes, but your budget is a lot closer to a high mileage older used car, we’ve got good news: you can afford a brand-new sedan if you visit Parkway Family Kia, your Houston Kia Forte dealer.

The Forte is Kia’s affordable compact sedan with so many luxury features that you’d assume it costs twice as much as the number on the sticker. In fact, the Forte’s low starting MSRP of just under $18,000 is the best kind of sticker shock. With plenty of trims to size up your horsepower and add a little extra luxury to the cabin, the Forte is a great alternative to buying a questionable used car.

We love the Forte’s bold curb appeal and the sporty lines that echo those of the high-performance Kia Stinger. Features like available LED headlights and taillights, a GT trim with a significant horsepower boost, and high-end leather seating with heat and cooling transform the entry-priced Forte into a European luxury sedan rival.

Are you ready to experience a car that gives you more bang for your buck than any other vehicle in the category? Get to know the 2021 Kia Forte, and you’ll wonder why you ever drove anything else.

Value and Features

The family of Kia Forte trims is as expansive as it is diverse, but even at the highest trim levels, the price never creeps higher than the low $20,000 range. That means you can explore more expensive trims without the dread that usually accompanies shopping for a car that’s over budget.

The base Forte FE starts at just under $18,000 and includes a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 147 horsepower and delivers fuel economy ratings of 31 MPG city and a whopping 41 MPG on the highway. And despite its low price, the FE still has plenty of comfort and convenience features, including an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen with standard Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration.

Next up, the LXS adds just $1,500 to the price tag. The list of standard equipment increases to include an intelligent variable transmission, 16-inch wheels, and a 60/40 split-folding rear seat. The LXS also includes Auto Headlight Control and special glossy black bumper accents.

Choose the affordably-priced EX trim at just over $23,000 for a plethora of standard tech, including a Harman Kardon premium sound system, a wireless phone charger, and Kia’s UVO link technology with navigation. You will also get heated and ventilated front seats with a 10-way power driver seat.

Sporty Looks and High Performance

The Forte GT-Line is an affordably-priced trim that reimagines the Forte’s exterior and interior appearance for a sporty appeal. Changes include a special grille, black spoiler, fog lights, and 17-inch wheels on the outside. Those upgrades are accompanied by sport seats with faux leather seat trim and white stitching, a D-shaped flat-bottom steering wheel, and a smart key with push button start on the interior. The GT-Line also includes LED taillights.

Are you looking for more performance and a dash of excitement? Check out the Forte GT. Still affordably priced at just under $23,000, the GT includes a turbocharged 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine that makes 201 horsepower, a 7-speed DCT automatic transmission with paddle shifters, 18-inch specially-branded GT wheels, and a sport-tuned suspension coupled with dual exhaust. A D-shaped steering wheel is standard, along with special sport seats with red stitching.

At the top of the trim range sits the Forte GT Manual. Equipped with an old-school 6-speed manual transmission, the GT Manual lives up to its name, giving drivers full control over shifting and acceleration. This trim also includes a power sunroof, an upgraded Harman Kardon stereo, a wireless phone charger, and a few driver-assist safety systems, including rear parking sensors.

Technology and Interior Appointments

All Kia Forte trims come standard with a generously sized 8-inch infotainment touchscreen. When coupled with the available voice-activated navigation system, the touchscreen displays turn-by-turn directions prominently and clearly. Your touchscreen is also a gateway to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, giving you the freedom to stream playlists or podcasts to keep you entertained.

With UVO link, your smartphone turns into a remote key and diagnostic hub for your Forte. You can remote start your car and set the climate control, send navigation instructions to the touchscreen, connect directly with roadside assistance, and even communicate with Amazon Alexa smart home devices, as well as Google Assistant. View comprehensive vehicle diagnostics, such as fuel level and upcoming maintenance requirements, all right on your smartphone via the UVO app.

The available wireless charger keeps the vehicle clear of tangled wires, freeing up space and eliminating clutter. With the available 320-watt, 8-speaker Harman Kardon Premium Audio System with a subwoofer, you can turn your Forte’s cabin into a traveling concert hall. The EX, GT, and GT Manual trims enjoy standard SiriusXM satellite radio for additional entertainment options.

All Forte trims include steering wheel-mounted audio and phone controls, as well as multiple USB ports to keep everyone charged and connected. The EX, GT, and GT Manual include dual illuminated visor vanity mirrors and rear air conditioning vents. At 182.7 inches long, the Forte offers plenty of interior cabin space, and it even has a sizable trunk for a compact car.

A blue 2021 Kia Forte is shown from the side driving on a dirt track.

Safety and Driver-Assist Features

All Forte trims come standard with Forward Collision Warning with Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist and Lane Departure Warning with Lane Keeping Assist-Line. All trims except the base FE and the LXS also come standard with Blind-Spot Collision Warning, Lane Change Assist, and Rear Cross Traffic Collision Warning. On top of the standard features, Smart Cruise Control is available on the GT trim.

In addition to the generous assortment of driver-assist safety technology, the entire lineup receives traction control, electronic stability control, and hill start assist control. The latter eliminates potentially dangerous rollback when stopped on an incline. When you release the brake, the system holds the vehicle in place until you touch the gas pedal.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety named the 2021 Kia Forte a Top Safety Pick. Kia earned this accolade in part for its rugged unibody chassis design but also because it includes so many standard safety features. The availability of UVO Link adds an extra layer of safety, with 911 direct connect capacity and access to non-emergency assistance.

It Is Time to Test Drive the Kia Forte

Maybe the best news of all when you join the Kia family of owners is the company’s industry-leading new vehicle warranty. Every new Kia comes with a 5-year/60,000-mile basic limited warranty. By contrast, the majority of automakers only offer a 3-year/36,000-mile warranty. Kia also includes a 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty, which makes ownership virtually worry-free.

Don’t buy a questionable used car when you can slide behind the wheel of an all-new 2021 Kia Forte that’s covered by the best warranty in the business, guaranteeing a low cost-of-ownership experience and plenty of peace-of-mind. The Forte is leagues ahead of the competition in both price and features, making it a standout option in the competitive compact sedan category.

Whether you need a value-oriented starter vehicle or you’re seeking some high-performance, manual-shifting driving excitement, there’s a Forte that fits your wishlist and budget. You don’t even have to sacrifice anything because, with the Forte lineup, you’ll find the latest tech, luxury equipment, and dozens of safety features to keep everyone out of harm’s way.

A silver 2021 Kia Telluride is parked on the edge of a cliff after leaving a Houston Kia Telluride dealer.

In the not-so-distant past, minivans were one of the only options that families had to haul everyone and everything from kids to groceries and gear. It was simply hard to beat the practicality of a minivan, especially with so few choices available. Fortunately, that’s no longer the case, thanks to automakers like Kia that have revolutionized the market with family-oriented SUVs like the 2021 Telluride. The luxurious crossover adds a new level of sophistication to the family-friendly segment and is one of our top sellers here at Parkway Family Kia, your leading Houston Kia Telluride dealer.

What makes the Telluride so special? Beyond its spacious and luxurious cabin, there is a lot to love about the 2021 model. In fact, we can think of 10 reasons to love the 2021 Telluride starting with its American roots. That’s right – it may have the Kia logo, but the Telluride is American-made through and through.

10 It’s American Made

The 2021 Telluride might bear the South Korean automaker’s logo, but the SUV is truly American designed and made. The design for the Telluride originated with the Kia team in California and is aptly named for the beautiful Colorado town of Telluride. While some parts of the Telluride are outsourced from other countries, the Telluride is truly American-made and is assembled at Kia’s automotive plant in West Point, Georgia.

9 It’s Backed By a Best-in-Class Warranty

Kia wants you to be confident in your purchase and ensures this by offering a best-in-class warranty on every 2021 Telluride. The industry-leading warranty includes limited powertrain coverage for 10 years or 100,000 miles, as well as limited anti-perforation coverage for 5 years or 100,000 miles. The Telluride is also covered by a limited basic warranty and a roadside assistance plan, both of which are good for 5 years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first.

8 It’s Highly Awarded

You don’t have to take our word for it that the Telluride is phenomenal since the three-row SUV has earned high praise across the board. US News & World Report named it the “Best 3-Row SUV for Families” for the second consecutive year, while Kelley Blue Book gave it the “Best Resale Value Award.” The Car Connection even sang its praises by naming it the “Best Family Car to Buy for 2021,” which marks the second time the SUV has earned top honors from the site.

The white interior of a 2021 Kia Telluride shows three rows of seating.

7 It’s Bold and Sophisticated

If you’re looking to raise the bar of sophistication, you don’t have to look beyond the Telluride Nightfall Edition. Adding a splash of attitude to the best-selling SUV’s EX Premium and SX models, the Nightfall Edition offers a bold exterior that sets it apart from the other trims. These unique features include a gloss black exterior trim with Nightfall Edition Kia logos. The model also sits on 20-inch black-finish alloy wheels and adds exclusive headlamps and fog lamps with black bezels.

6 It’s Luxurious

You’ll drive around in style in the 2021 Telluride thanks to a luxurious interior that’s packed with features, comforts, and conveniences. When you’re behind the wheel, the cockpit puts everything you need within eyesight, thanks to the available Head-Up Display that shows vital data on the windshield in front of you. Your passengers will also enjoy the ride thanks to reclining captain’s chairs in the second row that slide forward at the touch of a button. Add in the dual sunroofs, and your passengers can truly kick back and relax in the Telluride.

5 It’s Innovative

You don’t have to choose between staying connected and keeping your eyes on the road, thanks to the Telluride’s innovative connectivity features. Offering an 8-inch or a 10.25-inch touchscreen display depending on trim level, the Telluride puts everything you need at your fingertips. You can seamlessly sync your smartphone using Apple CarPlay or Android Auto and plan the fastest route to your destination using Kia’s navigation feature. You can also control certain features of the Telluride from your smartphone using the UVO app that allows you to remotely start the Telluride, lock and unlock the doors, control the climate, and more.

4 It’s Packed With Safety Features

Earning a five-star crash-test rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, safety is Kia’s top priority, and it shows on the Telluride. The Kia Drive Wise suite includes a variety of safety and driver-assist tools like Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with Pedestrian Detection, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Avoidance Assist, and a Blind Spot View Monitor to minimize the potential for collisions and enhance your visibility. You can also take advantage of advanced features like Highway Driving Assist that utilizes speed limit data and monitors the traffic ahead to maintain the appropriate speed. Additional features include Safe Exit Assist, Parking Distance Warning-Reverse, Hill Start Assist Control, and Electronic Stability Control.

3 It’s Efficient and Capable

Capability and efficiency aren’t mutually exclusive, at least not when it comes to the 2021 Telluride. Front-wheel drive models see a higher EPA-estimated fuel economy of 20 MPG in the city and 26 MPG on the highway, while all-wheel drive models have a slightly lower average of 19 MPG in the city and 24 MPG on the highway. This fuel efficiency also varies when you’re towing a heavy load up to 5,000 pounds, which the Telluride can do without breaking a sweat. This makes the Telluride an even more capable hauler whether you’re hauling kids to and from school or you’re hauling the family and towing a small camper for a weekend getaway at the lake.

A dark green 2021 Kia Telluride is parked on the edge of a cliff.

2 It’s Plenty Powerful

The Telluride is plenty powerful thanks to the 3.8-liter Lambda DOHC 24-valve V6 engine and the 8-speed automatic transmission under the hood. This combination delivers 291 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. This power makes the Telluride easy to handle, whether you’re navigating city traffic or cruising at highway speeds.

1 It’s Exceptionally Affordable

The best thing about the 2021 Telluride is that it’s one of the most affordable three-row crossovers on the market. Kia delivers this affordability across the Telluride’s four trims beginning with the LX base model at $32,190* and culminating with the luxurious top-tier SX trim. The LX is loaded with features like the UVO Link infotainment system on an 8-inch display, all of which make it an exceptional value. On the high end, the SX adds every bell and whistle imaginable, from LED lighting and dual sunroofs to a surround-view monitor, a premium audio system, and an integrated driver’s seat and outside mirror memory.

So Much to Love

What’s your favorite part of the 2021 Kia Telluride? Do you love that the crossover is American made or are you thrilled by its innovation and sophistication? Whatever the reason, there’s no question that the Telluride has a lot to offer, whether you need a spacious three-row SUV that can easily grow with your growing family or you’re looking for a sophisticated SUV that can effectively haul friends and their gear for a weekend adventure out of town. The Telluride proves it can handle it all with sophistication and without the high sticker price of so many other luxury SUVs.

While Kia offers several cars with alternative fuel options, the Niro EV is its most impressive all-electric model. The Niro EV is proof that electric cars are not lesser than their gas-powered variants.

The Niro EV is great because it allows accessible charging, it has a long driving range, and it’s compatible with affordable at-home chargers. The Niro EV works with over 60,000 public charging outlets and counting across the country, and the Niro’s tech allows you to locate the nearest charging station with ease. Let’s take a closer look at the 2020 Niro EV and find out why it’s one of the best electric models yet.

What’s Its Performance Like?

Many drivers are concerned with performance when it comes to electric models. The Niro EV is proof that high horsepower and fuel efficiency can be friends. Plus, you can kick it into Sport Mode if you want to sacrifice some of the battery’s juice to really get a feel for the Niro EV’s power.

If you’re worried about maintaining battery life, rest assured that this model’s Regenerative Self-Charging capabilities will keep you on the highway even longer. In short, this means that when you brake, energy is stored, helping to maintain your battery life. And more good news is that cold weather doesn’t affect the Niro EV’s battery. This model includes a battery heater, along with a heat pump, so that the battery won’t overwork itself. Moreover, the Niro’s battery is DC Fast-Charging compatible, meaning that you can get up to an 80% charge in around an hour. The Niro EV proves itself powerful yet fuel-efficient. After years of having to choose between fuel efficiency and power/acceleration, the Niro EV provides the perfect balance of both.

Finally, your Niro EV is compatible with both Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. So not only can you use remote commands via your smartphone, but you can also control your Niro EV via voice commands. Using Alexa or Google Assistant, you can charge your car, start it, play a song, and much more. Moreover, you have the choice to get a 10.25-inch customizable touchscreen which includes Apple CarPlay Android Auto for music streaming, voice-commanded navigation, and Dynamic Parking Guidance. You’ll also have the option to get interior mood lighting. Overall, the Niro EV is a tech-savvy model, and we haven’t even touched on its safety features yet.

Driver Assist Features You Won’t Want To Miss

While most modern vehicles include driver assist features, the Niro EV comes with a less common feature that acts as an extra pair of eyes. This feature is called “Driver Attention Warning.” You can’t just drift off into dreamland with driver attention warning on the clock. It monitors your actions, and it can tell if your attention is on something other than the road. When this happens, you’ll receive an alert to remind you to focus on driving and not your phone or your kids distracting you.

You’ll also get all the fun driver assist features, such as Lane Keeping Assist, Blind-Spot Collision Warning, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning, and Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with Pedestrian Detection. The Niro EV also comes with Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go, which is both convenient and safe, adjusting your speed automatically when cruise control is on so you won’t rear-end anyone. As you can see, the Kia puts safety first here with the 2020 Niro EV.

What’s The Difference Between the EX Trim and the EX Premium Trim?

The starting MSRP for the EX trim is $39,090, and the EX Premium starts at $44,590. So, what is that cost difference for? Both models come with many of the same specs; 201 horsepower, 291 lb-ft of torque, an estimated 239-mile driving range, 53 cubic feet of cargo, standard Kia DriveWise Assist Technology, and Apple Carplay/Android Auto capabilities. But the EX Premium trim takes this all a step further.

On the EX Premium Niro EV, you’ll get a power sunroof, wireless smart device charging, synthetic leather seating trim with blue accents, ventilated front seats, adjustable mood lighting, parking distance warning, and premium surround sound speakers with a subwoofer. You’ll also get that 10.25-inch touchscreen standard, whereas the EX trim comes with a smaller 8-inch screen. There’s no performance difference here, but rather, you’re getting a lot more tech and convenience features with the EX Premium Niro EV. If these bonuses don’t matter to you, though, then the EX still offers everything you could need.

What Does the Niro EV Look Like?

While EV vehicles haven’t always been the most aesthetically appealing, the Niro EV is quite the sporty model. This crossover EV comes in 7 different exterior colors with some standout options like Snow White Pearl, Runway Red, and Gravity Blue. The 2020 Kia Niro also comes with standard 17-inch Alloy wheels, chrome side window trim, black body-side moldings with black wheel well trim, deep-tinted glass, roof rack rails, and LED brake lights. This model includes heated side mirrors that power fold and include turn signal indicators, which are also body-colored along with the front and rear bumpers. The Niro EV is sporty by default. You don’t have to purchase add-ons or extra packages to receive all these aesthetic benefits.

Why Choose Kia Over Other EV Brands?

There are many different EV vehicles out there, so why those the Kia Niro? Affordability is one of the main reasons you’ll want to choose Kia. Typically, you have to purchase higher trims if you want tech and safety benefits, but that’s not the case with Kia models. As you saw earlier, even the lowest Niro EV trim still comes with a safety suite, entertainment features such as music streaming, and an infotainment center. Kia is known for producing models with more standard features than the average brand. Base-level trims still include handy benefits such as USB ports, steering wheel controls, SiriusXM Radio capability, and much more.

Moreover, Kia provides the best warranties of any brand. Rather than having to pay extra to get extended warranty options, Kia includes longer warranties in your initial purchase. When you buy your Niro EV, you’ll get a 10-year/100,000-mile warranty. If you had any doubts about the Kia Niro EV, we hope that we’ve helped put them to rest. If you want to check out the 2020 Kia Niro EV, then come visit Parkway Family Kia.

Hybrid vehicles occupy a fascinating position in the automotive world. They can operate using gasoline or electricity, placing them squarely in between combustion engine vehicles and solely electric vehicles. These can serve as a method to ease interested drivers into the idea of an electric car without forcing them to completely adjust to something that is all-electric. Kia hybrids may be some of the best-known vehicles in today’s hybrid market. They are also some of the easiest and most accessible entry points into the idea of alternative fuel vehicles. Kia hybrids are innovative, well designed, and reliable, guaranteed to turn heads wherever you go.

Kia has two hybrids on the market currently: the Kia Niro Hybrid and the Kia Sorento Hybrid. Both these vehicles offer a push-button switch between fuel power to electric power. This switch can be made even when the vehicle is on the go. Kia is a regular in the electric vehicle market, having introduced its first-ever electric vehicle in 1988, though alternative fuel energy wasn’t commercially available in the US until the release of the Soul in 2008. With this long history, Kia definitely knows what they are doing when it comes to making hybrid vehicles. The Niro and Sorento promise never to disappoint with powerful and efficient engines and batteries that provide a lot of range. These efficient options are merely part of the future of the automotive industry and the move to clean energy, and they are worth checking out at our dealership.

One of the Kia hybrids, a silver 2021 Kia Niro PHEV, is driving on an empty road.

Kia Niro

The 2021 Kia Niro has a starting MSRP of $24,690. It comes with a six-speed, dual-clutch automatic transmission with a sport mode that shifts gears smoothly. The Niro’s parallel hybrid system pairs an electric motor with a 1.6-liter gasoline engine for a total estimated fuel efficiency of 53 miles per gallon in the city and 48 miles per gallon on the highway. The vehicle also uses regenerative braking, designed to capture the energy when the vehicle slows down and use that energy to help recharge the battery while the car is on the go, to increase efficiency.

The Niro’s front grille has a diamond pattern that gives it a textured 3D look. Alloy wheels measuring sixteen or eighteen inches feature further geometric designs to keep the Niro looking fresh and modern. Seven exterior colors are available for buyers to choose from. These include fun options like solar orange, deep cerulean, and runaway red. Multipurpose steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters can be used for easily shifting between gears or between four different levels of regenerative braking to keep the battery charged while the vehicle is in motion, all while keeping the driver’s hands on the wheel.

The Niro’s interior has several interior options, including light gray leather, real or artificial, with electric blue accents, gray or charcoal cloth, charcoal cloth with leather, charcoal leather (real or artificial), and light gray cloth and leather with electric blue accents. The electric blue definitely pops, making the color stand out more. The Niro also has access to the UVO app. This app has features such as remote control of climate, door locks, remote start, and horn. It also contains a car finder feature and shows points of interest that can be added to the navigation when necessary.

There are five trims available for the Kia Niro Hybrid. The base trim is the LX, which offers features such as wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, 120 cubic feet of interior room, and an eight-inch touch screen display with a rearview camera. The LXS, priced at less than $2,000 over the base model, features a leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear shift knob, and a smart key with push-button start. For another roughly $2,000, the Niro Touring offers a power sunroof, ten-way adjustable driver’s seat, and a seven-inch supervision meter cluster. The EX Premium is top of the line, featuring heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and wireless phone charging.

A red 2021 Kia Sorento Hybrid is driving in front of a hill and mountains.

Kia Sorento

The Kia Sorento Hybrid has a starting MSRP of $33,590 with maximum seating for six. This mid-sized crossover has a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with a six-speed automatic transmission. A 1.5 kWh lithium battery helps to power the electric motor. Reported fuel economy ratings are 39 miles per gallon in the city and 35 miles per gallon on the highway. The 1.6-liter I-4 combined with the electric motor generates an excellent 227 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. These similar torque figures prove that the Sorento Hybrid is powerful, with every part of the engine helping every other part, and the gasoline and electric battery both switching off smoothly to share the load.

The Sorento Hybrid comes in seven exterior colors, including silky silver, gravity blue, runway red, and snow white pearl. The hybrid drivetrain is estimated to have up to 655 miles of combined range. This vehicle shifts by wire through a full gearbox with instant acceleration. The Sorento Hybrid comes with front-wheel drive and has a 2,000-pound towing capacity. As a hybrid and not a plug-in hybrid, the Sorento Hybrid offers no electric-only mode but seems to rely on electric power often, especially at high speeds.

With seating for six, the Kia Sorento Hybrid offers second-row captain’s chairs with a 50-50 split-bench seat in the third row. The smart power liftgate can be set to open automatically when the key is detected. The second and third rows of seats can both fold down completely for additional cargo space. An efficiency display on the center touch screen shows real-time info of the energy’s flow between the drivetrain, battery, and regenerative braking. The Kia Sorento Hybrid can have up to eight available USB outlets, leaving plenty of space for everyone’s devices to charge.

The Kia Sorento Hybrid comes in two trim levels, the S and the EX. There is a $3,000 price difference between the pair. The base-level S trim offers a power adjustable driver’s seat with heated front seats, Safe Exit Assist, and an eight-inch touch screen display with Sirius XM, among other features. The EX offers a panoramic sunroof with power sunshade, Smart Cruise Control with Stop and Go, and Parking Distance Warnings for forward and rear. Also available is a wireless phone charging pad and LED fog lamps. Whichever trim you choose, the Kia Sorento Hybrid is just as much a contender for hopeful hybrid owners as the Kia Niro hybrid.

A red 2021 Kia Sportage is driving on a dirt road after leaving a Kia dealership.

Kia Motors blazed a trail on the American automotive market almost from the day it launched, manufacturing a family-friendly lineup of cars that delivered impressive fuel economy and a little dash of style. Flash forward to today, and the Kia brand has evolved into a serious player in multiple categories, with a Kia dealership practically on every corner. Led by the popular 2021 Kia Sportage, the current lineup of Kia vehicles continues this trend, winning buyers across the price and category spectrum.

Sitting front-and-center, the Sportage competes in the popular compact crossover SUV category, selling upwards of 80,000 units every year. The trend shows no signs of stopping, especially in 2021, with the addition of several exciting special edition packages, including the Nightfall and Nightfall Premium Editions.

Another great feature of Kia cars is the impressive list of standard features, even on the base models. Kia believes in delivering not only affordable vehicles but comfort, convenience, and even a little luxury with every single vehicle that leaves the showroom floor. It’s this commitment to a well-balanced product line that never loses sight of affordability that is earning Kia more-and-more devoted customers.

If you haven’t discovered the Kia line of cars and SUVs, the time is now. We’ll take a closer look here at Kia’s lineup of cars, its history, and the class-leading 2021 Kia Sportage.

Kia History

Kia Motor Company is a Korean automobile manufacturer that opened its doors in 1944 as a bicycle maker, eventually graduating to building motorcycles in the mid-1950s. In 1972, the company began building trucks for Mazda, which led to the construction of a dedicated assembly plant in 1973. Over the next 20 years, Kia participated in several manufacturing partnerships with both Ford and Mazda.

In 1992, Kia Motors America was born, and the first-ever Kia dealerships opened in Portland, Oregon. Kia’s growth strategy involved a slow, methodical region-by-region expansion. The popular Sportage was only the second Kia vehicle launched in the United States, after the Sephia. By 1995, over one hundred Kia dealers were operating.

Today, Kia is partially owned by Hyundai Motor Company and, after continual sales success for 15 years straight, the company built a $1 billion manufacturing plant in Georgia. There are over 750 active Kia dealerships across the country, and while the Sephia is no longer in production, the Sportage remains one of the most popular nameplates in Kia’s lineup.

The Kia Lineup

Kia Motors currently manufactures 17 different vehicles for the United States market, six of which are in the popular SUV category. Starting with the budget-priced Kia Soul, which starts at just $17,590, up to the luxurious full-size Telluride, with an MSRP of $32,190, Kia dominates in many SUV and crossover categories.

The company is no stranger to the burgeoning hybrid/EV market, offering its Niro SUV in a standard gas-powered model, a plug-in hybrid, and an all-electric powertrain. The latter delivers an impressive 239-mile range and fast-charging options to keep drivers charged efficiently. Between the vehicle’s capabilities and its impressive tech – like an available 10.25-inch touchscreen – it’s obvious that Kia is focusing on alternative technology and emerging EV categories.

Kia’s most affordable model is the compact 5-door Rio hatchback. At a starting price of just $16,050, the little Rio marries style with practicality and reminds price-conscious buyers that there are new vehicle options even at lower price points. It’s this balanced line of products – from ultra budget-friendly to alternative-powered, to even a downright luxurious full-size SUV (the Telluride) that sets Kia apart from its competition.

Kia doesn’t just stop at budget-oriented cars and SUVs – the company recently launched the exciting Stinger sports sedan, a performance-oriented car that delivers impressive speed, traveling from zero-to-sixty in just 4.7 seconds. That’s thanks to a powerful 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 engine that delivers 365 horsepower and 376 lb-ft of torque. This is not a value car; it’s an aerodynamic thrill-ride that earns style points and plenty of street credibility.

The 2021 Kia Sportage

The 2021 Kia Sportage is the just-right-sized small SUV offering from Kia. This stylish and nimble crossover delivers impressive performance, with a max available 240 horsepower via a very spirited 2.0-liter turbocharged engine. There’s also the option to add all-wheel drive, turning the Sportage into an inclement weather MVP. On the inside, automotive journalists have compared it to a luxury import. Car and Driver states that the Sportage’s cabin “is well executed and filled with a pleasing mix of quality materials and nifty, functional features.”

Available in four different trims, the Sportage can be as luxurious and well-equipped as your budget allows. Starting at $24,090 for the base LX model, the Sportage is designed to appeal to budget-minded buyers at the entry price range. Don’t let the term ‘base model’ fool you, though: the LX offers tons of standard features, including an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen and several driver-assist safety systems that are optional on many of the Sportage’s competitors.

Next up, the Sportage S is $26,590 and adds even more driver-assist technology, along with special upgraded synthetic leather trim, fog lamps and the option of adding the Nightfall Edition or Nightfall Premium Edition exterior appearance packages. The EX, starting at $27,390, adds a power liftgate, push-button start, power seats, and dual-zone climate control.

The top-of-the-line Sportage SX Turbo pushes the price to $33,750, but you’ll get a lot for your money, starting with a standard 2.00-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged engine, larger 19-inch wheels, a panoramic sunroof, LED headlights and fog lamps, upgraded leather seats, and a truly amazing Harman Kardon premium audio system with a surround sound capability that turns the cabin into a concert hall.

Whichever trim you choose, what’s evident across the model range is Kia’s commitment to quality and value. All Kia vehicles are protected by one of the best warranties in the industry: a 10-year/100,000-mile protection program that covers the powertrain and a 5-year/60,000-mile limited basic warranty. The Sportage is also recognized as one of the safest vehicles in its class as it was named a 2020 IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) Top Safety Pick.

For years, Kia has quietly established itself as a competitive and viable alternative in some of the most competitive segments, like the compact SUV category and within the emerging alternative-powered car and crossover category. The company has earned the coveted #1 Brand in Initial Quality award from J.D. Power for six years in a row and now has sold nearly 8,000,000 vehicles in the United States.

With all this talk about safety and value, it’s easy to let style slide, but luckily Kia scores style points too. In fact, the company prides itself on constantly evolving its core line of vehicles and peppering the lineup with exciting new products, most recently completely redesigning the Soul and launching the alternative fuel-powered Nitro.

If you’re considering a new car or SUV, consider the dynamic Kia lineup. The diverse range of vehicles, combined with the Kia’s expansive warranty coverage and commitment to quality, makes buying a Kia a smart move. Add dynamic styling and even a little peppy performance, and it’s hard to understand why you wouldn’t choose a Kia.

A black 2021 Kia Telluride is driving on a blurred street after leaving a Kia dealer in Houston.

Owning and operating a car dealership is a special kind of business that really takes extra care and heart to do it properly. While some dealers might see themselves as just another retail business, here at Parkway Family Kia, we really pride ourselves on being a part of the community and offering something vital for our customers. We know you have options if you’re looking for Kia dealers in Houston, which is why we work so hard every day to show you just how important you are to us.

From our large selection of new Kia vehicles to our extensive inventory of used models, we believe that providing you with the best cars on the road is of the utmost importance. We also understand that finding the right car within your budget can be difficult, which is why we work hard to offer vehicles at a wide range of prices, including a number of quality used models priced under $15,000 and even under $10,000. Everything we do is our way of showing you, our friends, neighbors, and customers, just how much you mean to us and why we appreciate being a part of the Houston area and this amazing community.

Offering You the Best New Vehicles

One of the most important things to us as your Kia dealer in Houston is the vehicles that we offer you, our customer. We believe in Kia as a brand, and we get excited about the incredible vehicles they design and manufacture every year. The lineup of Kia vehicles available today is as good as it has ever been – and it just seems to keep getting better every year. It’s becoming broader with more options, so no matter what you’re looking for in a car or SUV, Kia has you covered.

It should go without saying that the cars a dealership offers are its most important assets, and yet not every dealer seems to view it that way. While there are certainly other fine dealerships out there, there are also too many that see their cars as something to grind through as quickly as possible and quickly push them out the door. We view our vehicles as the cornerstone of our entire operation; while we’re certainly focused on selling our inventory, we really believe in finding the right model for every customer. There’s no need to push you into something that doesn’t really work for you just to meet a quota or sales goal; we want to see you drive away in the perfect vehicle with everything you need.

A Wide Range of Used Models

While we’re excited about all of the new vehicles we can offer as your Kia dealer in Houston, we also recognize that a brand-new model isn’t right for everyone. That is why we maintain a diverse selection of pre-owned or used vehicles for you to choose from if that’s a better option for you. Our goal is to find just the right car or SUV for each of our customers, no matter whether that means a brand-new Kia, a Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) Kia, or a used model from another manufacturer.

We maintain a large and varied inventory of pre-owned vehicles, with new models coming in all the time, to be able to match you up with the perfect car more easily. With a used vehicle, you cannot choose among different options and packages the way you can when buying a new car, so having a wide range of used models available lets you find that one with everything you need to make your life easier.

As an authorized Kia dealer, we can maintain a selection of CPO Kia vehicles for you to consider. CPO models aren’t like other used vehicles – they must meet the highest standards of quality to ensure they are in the very best condition. And with those standards, you also get greater peace of mind than with other used models, including Kia factory warranties. Kia is considered by many to be the best manufacturer in the industry for their CPO warranties, providing you with up to 12 months/12,000 miles of comprehensive vehicle coverage and 10 years/100,000 miles of limited powertrain coverage.

Help With Everything You Need

Although we’re proud of our inventory of vehicles, we also know that cars aren’t everything when it comes to car shopping. That might sound a bit contradictory, but it simply means we recognize the importance of everything else involved in buying and owning a vehicle. Our salespeople all specialize in being helpful, honest, and informative – they can answer any questions you have, talk to you and help you figure out what you need, and work with you to make sure you find it. Our financing professionals are also here to assist with figuring out the right financing for your vehicle, so you can get the car you need, with payments that won’t keep you up at night.

Our service and parts departments are here to help you with everything you need for years to come, so your car stays in great shape for as long as you want to keep enjoying it. At our certified service center, we’re ready to help you with just about anything: from routine and scheduled maintenance to parts replacements and even major work after a collision. And with our factory parts department, we maintain a large selection of parts on-hand to make the work even faster. If you’re looking for a particular part or accessory, and prefer to do the work yourself, then we can help you order just what you need and get it to you as quickly as possible.

Proud to Be a Part of Houston

The Houston area is an incredible place to live, work, and play – we couldn’t be prouder of this city and the amazing people all around us. Just like you, we live in the city and the surrounding area, allowing us to understand exactly what you’re looking for and what you need. Whether you want a reliable, fuel-efficient car to get you to work every day and keep your gas bill low, or you need a larger SUV for a growing family and everything that entails, we get it.

All of us here at Parkway Family Kia love this area, and we use every opportunity to take advantage of the natural beauty around us. From spending a warm day on Lake Houston or heading north for a weekend of camping around Lake Livingston, not to mention all of the amazing opportunities for boating, fishing, and more down at Trinity Bay or out in the Gulf, we’re always looking for new places to visit and explore. If you also enjoy all of the amazing recreational activities that this area provides, then we can help you find the perfect vehicle to get out and enjoy everything the Houston area has to offer.

There was once a time, many years ago, when the only safety feature in automobiles were simple seatbelts that strapped across the lap of the driver and passengers. But as time went by, things started to change dramatically. The lap belt would eventually be replaced with the lap belt and shoulder strap, which provided to be a safer combination. Eventually, airbags were employed for safety purposes. As new technologies were discovered, vehicles would become safer. In the beginning, features like anti-lock brakes were becoming increasingly popular. Nowadays, many safety features, like antilock brakes and airbags, are included with all makes and models. The Kia models you shop for at your Houston Kia dealer offer several safety features; many are standard. Here is a breakdown of the safety features found in Kia models and why they are so important.
