Kia dealers in Houston and all around the United States are anxiously awaiting the introduction of the latest and greatest Kia models. The manufacturer has given the dealers and enthusiasts a glimpse into the future, and what they showed everyone was just enough to get the excitement started!

When the latest vehicles roll off of the assembly line, consumers have learned to expect great things. Kia has a reputation for increasing features, luxury, stability, and safety each year. The latest Kia innovations that have dealerships biting their nails in anticipation include the following vehicles.

2022 Sportage Nightfall Edition

The Nightfall Edition version of the popular Sportage opens up external feature options that people are going to love, introducing black trim and creating mystery and beauty at the same time. The front bumper, rear bumper trim, side sills, skid plates, roof rails, fog light surrounds, and window surrounds are all flat piano black. This makes the body colors pop and creates an aggressive and high-performance look to the vehicle.

The liftgate has been upgraded to sense the presence of the key and can be opened automatically. Your hands are free to carry your groceries, accessories, or essentials, and the Smart Power Liftgate makes loading the vehicle more effortless than ever. Once the liftgate is up, the cargo floor has a dual-level design that allows supplies to ride in a stable condition and prevents tipping and spilling bags. The rear seats have a 60/40 folding capability that increases cargo room. Under the cargo floor, a removable tray has been installed that will hold loose items and smaller objects to prevent them from being lost.

The latest Sportage model will have an all-wheel-drive option on top of the choice of two different engines. The Nightfall comes with the standard 2.4-liter options, but if you like power and speed, then check out the SX Turbo trim to see if its 240 horsepower is enough motor for you.

Inside, wireless phone charging lets you cut the power cord strings and makes keeping your smartphones and devices charged and ready to use. A touchscreen display lets you connect to all of your favorite apps, maps, music, and even your text messages from friends. Remote access to start the engine, unlock the doors, control the climate inside the vehicle, and find the car in a crowded parking lot is accessible with the UVO link system. Your smartphone becomes a tool that helps you to control your automobile and make life easier for you.

Visual and auditory signals will alert you of objects that are in your blind spot. Forward collision assistance is provided and can help you slow the vehicle or stop it if a front-facing collision is impending. The headlights also automatically dim when they sense a vehicle approaching, so you never have to worry about blinding an oncoming driver.

2022 Kia Telluride

The Telluride is a midsize SUV that was recently introduced and has already earned the honors of being named one of Car and Driver’s 10Best and picking up their Editor’s Choice award for 2020 and 2021. The latest Telluride will have an updated logo positioned on the grille. Instead of the old oval, the Kia letters will be linked together to create a sharp new logo. The grille of the vehicle will be available in chrome or in black.

The 2022 trim packages will offer luxury interior upgrades. The 3.8-liter V-6 engine with 291 horsepower will be standard in every trim. Kia provides a 10.25″ touchscreen, automatic climate control, and highway driving assist features that create a semi-autonomous vehicle even on the lower-level trim packages.

All of the 2022 Telluride models will have a cruise control upgrade. The advanced Smart Cruise Control-Curve will modify the cruise control settings based on navigation information about the roadway you are traveling. The cruise control will automatically adjust your traveling speed when an upcoming curve in the road makes it necessary. Once you have passed the turn, the cruise control will automatically adjust the momentum back to your chosen setting.

2022 Seltos

For all people who would prefer a smaller-sized sports utility vehicle, the Kia Seltos will be worthy of your attention. It is a rugged vehicle that is ready for around-town driving and open highway adventures. The 2022 model is available with a turbocharged 1.6-liter engine that has plenty of power, putting out 175 horsepower and 195 lb-ft torque. The 2022 model is also available with all-wheel drive. It has an optimal 7.3″ ground clearance so that you can take the less-traveled path with more confidence.

Advancements like automatic emergency braking technology have made the Seltos safer to drive. Lane-keeping and lane-following technology ensure that you will not become distracted and allow your vehicle to drift out of the lane you are traveling in. Blindspot detection technology will alert you to the presence of objects in your blind spots, and rear cross-traffic collision avoidance will reduce the possibility of parking-lot mishaps.

The 2022 Seltos will offer the comfort and convenience that most people want from their vehicles. Heated front seats keep you warm and cozy, while remote control of the climate control allows you to use your smartphone to set the temperature in your vehicle. You do not have to face extremely hot or cold interiors with this feature.

A grey 2022 Kia EV6 is shown from the side parked in front of a mountain.

2022 EV6

This electric car is going to be a game-changer for a lot of people. Many drivers have resisted switching to electric-powered vehicles because they believed electricity couldn’t provide the power they needed. People also worry that the electric car will not travel very far before it needs to recharge. The new Kia EV6 proves them wrong on both counts.

There are several trim levels offered in the EV6. The most basic trim level will have rear-wheel drive and 167 horsepower. However, the top-of-the-line EV6 GT will have all-wheel drive and an incredible 576 horsepower. The GT model has a larger battery pack, combined with dual motors, one in the front and one in the rear. Kia says that the GT is capable of reaching speeds of 60 mph in less than 3.5 seconds – that’s a full second faster than the twin-turbo V6 Kia Stinger GT.

The worries that people have about how often the car will need to plug in to charge and the amount of time it will take for power to be restored have also been laid to rest. The quick charger will allow the battery to go from a ten percent charge to eighty percent in as little as eighteen minutes. The car will have enough power to travel an additional seventy miles in as few as five minutes.

The EV6 will be attractive as well as practical and environmentally friendly. The vehicle will have a panoramic sunroof and a premium audio system so you can enjoy your ride. It will also sport 20-inch wheels that give it precise handling to complement its incredible acceleration.

Final Thoughts

The 2022 Kia lineup is promising to be one of the most advanced and safest lineups introduced in the past seven years. If you are considering a new vehicle, it would be wise for you to look into what Kia has been doing and its offering in their cars. You will more than likely be delighted with what they have to offer, from the luxurious Telluride to the electric EV6.
